Amazing Race Memorable Moment of the Day

I can't guarantee I'll do this every day, but there is one particular moment that is sticking out in my mind.

Now, I'm going to start by how inconsistent penalties are given in the Race, especially for transportation errors. Sometimes, a team needs to go back and correct what they did wrong, while other times they are given a penalty. In Season 12, Nathan and Jennifer took the wrong transportation to the pit stop, and had to go back and take the correct transportation in order to be checked in in Croatia. And that was not the only time this happened. It seemed as though if the team had taken the wrong transportation to the pit stop, they would have to go back and take the correct transportation in order to be checked in at the pit stop. The other thing is there was always a timer showing how much time is left in the penalty while the time is waiting. That was pretty constant no matter when the penalty was given.

The penalty I want to talk about was from Unfinished Business and it was given to Kent and Vyxsin in Switzerland. Personally, I couldn't stand this team, so I was thrilled when this happened. This penalty also benefited Zev and Justin, one of my personal favorite teams of all time. But I still acknowledge how strange this incident was. And maybe people do know what really happened, and if they do, please tell me how this went down.

The clue stated to go by foot to the pit stop. Clear as day. The other teams all acknowledged that they were unable to take a taxi up to the pit stop, but Kent and Vyxsin hopped in the cab.  They were driven up the mountain to the pit stop, and told they had taken the wrong transportation.  They were then given a thirty minute penalty. What? Why did they not have to go back to the end of the last task and walk back up? And my first thought was that the pit stop was at the top of a mountain, so that's why? But Nate and Jen had the same situation, with a very different outcome. Why did they get this penalty?

My second issue is with the timer. Every other penalty, they showed how much time was left in the penalty, or Phil had said how much time was left when the final team checked in. But they never acknowledged how much time was left during any point of the penalty. Phil did not mention how much time was left when the only remaining team, Zev and Justin, checked in.

This is seriously a moment that still bothers me. Why did they get the penalty, and not have to go back and walk back to the pit stop? Why did they tell us nothing about how much time was left in the penalty?

If anyone has answers, please comment below.
